final Assessment

In our final assessment we have replicated a section from a previous post which was based around the genre, satanic. We think that we have done this to a very high standard as the location is very similar and the camera shots and angles were in the same order, up to the same standard. We believe the continuity of the clip is good as the shots all flow and follow on from one another but shot switch very fast to create suspense and tension of what is going to appear next. We used music to draw the audience in as it created and built up tension to what was going to happen next.
We hope you enjoy :)

Satanic/Possession

Today, we have been set the task to watch and recreate a 40 second clip of a previous students horror film.  The film we have chosen to do is satanic/possession, the clip we have chosen is set in a white room, totally blank. We chose this because it has many different angles and shots, which made the film effective. It is also a very bright piece, which makes you wonder as an audience what is going on within the scene. We also thought it was effective as the girl is dressed in white as it makes you wonder if she is mentally ill and where she is. There is also a sequence of shots of different rooms, which also gives a disorientated effect.
We hope to get as close of a recreation as possible. :)

Storyboard activity

Here is our latest video, it is a storyboard activity.
Firstly we created a storyboard of how we wanted our scenes to look, with different camera shots and angles. Few of the shots we used were close up, mid shot, long shot, over the shoulder shot and two shot. We also used two angles, these were, panning and tilt.
There are a few shots which are slightly jumpy but we are working on making it better as we progress with our editing skills. We shot all the camera shots that we planned to use during filming and kept them in the video. The most effective shot was the tilt shot as it was different and gave it a more modern feel.
It could be improved by the scenes running smoothly into one another.
Hope you enjoy :)

Practical Continuity and Coverage Exercise

Hello everyone :)
Hope you are enjoying our past videos!
We have created and edited a new video, it is a practical continuity and coverage exercise, in this video you will see Ben as our actor. The video is filmed around Bilborough college.
We believe this is a good learning experience, and that it has mistakes which we can now learn from for future work. There are a few jumps in the video as we are still learning new editing skills.
We were having problems with the 180 degree rule, as we shot on both sides of the door. We also had  few coverage problems, as in the mid shots we were struggling to get a good angle with his whole top half of his body in. The final problem we had was with the over the shoulder shot as it was more of a mid shot as we felt we couldn't get a good shot and shot angle when it was in a over the shoulder position.
We hope you enjoy this.
Feedback will be gratefully appreciated.

Stalker scene.

This week we have created and partially edited our short film, our film was about stalking. A girl is being stalked by a fellow student in school. It went very well, but took a lot of patience and time to get it how we wanted it to be. We hope you enjoy the clip and we hope to hear you views, :)
